Chapman Gieske
- First in a series of CompuCorp employee profiles
CompuCorp is proud to announce the first of a series of employee profiles. This issue features Chapman, the loveable, friendly faced IT Specialist. Chapman spends most of his time fixing PC's here in the office or taking support calls. Here is your chance to get to know him better!
Though Chapman has been with CompuCorp a mere two years, his experience as an IT professional spans back to the mid-1990's. He got his start by -- what else -- fixing his family's computers. Once he discovered the thrill of PC repair, he changed his career totally and sought the challenge of a fast paced IT environment. Since then, he’s worked with literally thousands of individual and business clients.
Having grown up on the Chesapeake Bay, Chapman likes to spend his vacation time sailing vast blue seas. On any other mundane weekend you can find him enjoying the company of friends and watching OSU football. In addition, Chapman takes great pride in his attention to detail as he cooks dinners for friends and family. Around the office it isn't surprising to find Chapman talking about the perfect way to sear a pork loin.
When asked why he chose this profession, Chapman says he likes challenges and every day is a new one. Since graduating with Spanish and Economic majors from Tulane University, Chapman says the IT field is the only one he's found that offers him the chance to learn new things all the time. He encourages others not to be afraid of their computers and find the fun in working with these technological achievements. An easy thing people can start with at home, says Chapman, is keeping their PC running smoothly by using Check Disk and Defragmenting their hard drive. From there, the sky's the limit.
